you first recorded the point A on backsight and then point B on backsight when the station was moved beyond point B from the centre, and how is that waving the staff helpful for getting correct reading?

When using the plate level, you also need to rotate 90 degrees, and level ( with the 3rd screw only), and repeat, until level both ways, and still over the point.

Will they take me if I have a Belarusian diploma or do I need to retrain in the USA and where to go to retrain in the USA?

as someone who only started enrolling in sem 1 i find this very helpful. no wonder the calculation had so many errors to the point the result became invalid. i hope there won't be any issues anymore 😅

A quick question, if you know the answer... I have a theodolite with a laser plummet. However, the tripod has a plumb bob hook inside the tripod screw. This works well for when I attach a plumb bob. However, this interferes with the laser dot which becomes quite blurry and poorly defined. What do people do in this situation?

I used instruments in late fall in central Minnesota, the warm legs from the warm truck would actually sink into the somewhat frozen ground. We would then put snow around the bottom of the legs to counteract thawing. m
